At the congregational picnic for the First Evangelical Church. I met a university student named Sarah. She is in her last year studying Business Administration. We were having casual conversation about school, Athens, and even music.
Then I asked her where she lived and she told me she lives in a more suburban area of Athens with her parents. I asked her if her parents attend the same church as her and she said no, but they are Christians as well. I asked her why she did not go to the same church as them and she told me that she personally felt the Spirit pulling her towards First Church.
Out of the whole conversation with her what impacted me the most was when she asked me if I grew up in a Christian home and I said, “Yes, did you?” She replied, “Yes, we are both so fortunate.” It is true, I am fortunate and I think sometimes I don’t even realize how blessed I am for growing up knowing The Lord in a Christian home. Thankful, fortunate, and blessed are only a few emotions describing what I felt after that conversation. I know I will never forget her or that conversation
