Volunteer with Faith & Finances

Calling all allies! This spring, we need you to encourage and equip students in the Faith and Finances course, helping them towards financial freedom.

January 22, 2018 6:00pm To January 22, 2018 6:00pm

Faith and Finances is a 10-week interactive financial education course crafted for the working poor and men transitioning from homelessness in our community and the unique challenges faced by them.

This spring, Louise and Greg Holzhauer are facilitating two separate classes each week:

Monday nights

6:00-8:30 pm

At United Against Poverty

beginning January 22

Tuesday nights

6:00-8:00 pm

At Central Care Mission (a residential community center for homeless men)

beginning January 23

Volunteer Needs

Be an Ally

A very important role in the class are the “allies” who serve by coming alongside the participants as encouragers and co-participants. No preparation is required; your caring presence each week is your service. Both men and women volunteers are needed for the Monday night class, and men only for the Tuesday night class.

Provide a Meal

On the Monday night class, a meal is provided for the class participants and allies to share together at the beginning of class. To volunteer in this way, you can provide or sponsor a meal for one or more Monday nights for about 20 people.

For more information on serving as an ally, or providing a meal, contact Louise Holzhauer  or Greg Holzhauer
