About This Series
Philippians is a brief letter, or epistle, written to a healthy church facing the challenges that come with growth.
Two major themes permeate this epistle: gospel encouragement and gospel challenge. Gospel encouragement is, ultimately, practical hope that stems from God’s grace, while gospel challenges are hardships that come from grace-energized growth.
Philippians is a letter that deals with real world difficulties: persecution from unbelievers, conflict within the church, physical sickness, false teaching, incorrect thought patterns, anxiety, and financial difficulty. Despite the sometimes heavy subject matter, though, the letter maintains an upbeat and encouraging tone.
So, join us as we walk through the book of Philippians—and find hope amidst the challenges of everyday life.
