The office of Elder finds its roots in the Bible and is the cornerstone of a Presbyterian church’s leadership and government structure.
The Elders oversee the spiritual welfare of Orangewood in being responsible for vision casting, doctrinal purity, administering the Sacraments, fostering Biblical stewardship principles, administering discipline to lovingly restore its members and otherwise offers shepherding, teaching, encouragement, and prayer for Orangewood members and their children.
Orangewood members elect its Elders to a board called the Session. Elders are elected for life. Our Session elects nine Elders to three-year rotating terms to our Governing Commission which directly oversees Worship, Discipleship, Outreach and Administration, and meets on a monthly basis with our pastors.
Below is a list of our current elders. Elders currently serving on our Governing Commission are marked with an asterisk.
