The office of Elder finds its roots in the Bible and is the cornerstone of a Presbyterian church’s leadership and government structure.

The Elders oversee the spiritual welfare of Orangewood. Some of the things they superintend are: vision casting, doctrinal purity, administering the Sacraments, fostering Biblical stewardship, administering discipline, and otherwise shepherding, teaching, encouraging, and praying for Orangewood members and their children.

Orangewood members elect Elders to a board called the Session. The Session then elects nine Elders to three-year, rotating terms on our Governing Commission. This commission meets on a monthly basis with our pastors and directly oversees the worship, discipleship, outreach, and administration of our church.

Below is a list of our current elders. Elders currently serving on our Governing Commission are marked with an asterisk.

We’d love to hear from you! If you have any questions for our elders, let us know!
