Hey Curt! We’re so happy to have you on staff with us as our new Pastor of Local Outreach! Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself?

 

What drew you to Orangewood?

The people, the preaching, and the worship

What are you excited about for your new role?

Connecting God’s people to God’s work in the local community

 

With two friends doing disaster relief in Mullins, SC following Hurricane Matthew.

What were you doing before you came to Orangewood?

I currently work for one of the agencies of the PCA, Mission to North America. I coordinate their domestic short-term missions department.

 

Where are you from?

Winter Park, Florida

Tell us a little bit about your family:

I met my wife, Kelly, in Mississippi while serving at First Presbyterian Church of Biloxi. We have been married since 2004. Together we have a 14 year old Cocker Spaniel named Bailey.

 

Favorite food?

Steak

 

Favorite place to eat?

Cochon Butcher (New Orleans)

 

Guilty pleasure?

Driving to NSB during off season

Favorite music?

Mainly Jackson Browne and Jimmy Buffett but I also have a pretty eclectic taste.

 

Hidden talent:

I’m a pretty decent surfer and wind surfer.

Fun fact: 

I worked at Wet n Wild, a water park that was located just off International Drive. Through high school and college I was a lifeguard and lead. After graduation from FSU I became the Operations Manager. During that time I implemented a number of safety protocols that became industry wide standards (WnW was the pioneer of the water park industry).
