Q&A with Holly McWilliams, our new Assistant Music Director
Johannah Huber

Hey Holly! We’re so happy to have you on staff with us as our new Assistant Music Director! Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself?

What is your position at Orangewood?

Assistant Music Director: I’ll be scheduling singers, running any rehearsals, helping on board anyone interested in being in the worship team, and organize and digitally file our collection of music and sheet music pdf as well as recording voice parts for rehearsals

What drew you to Orangewood?

A beautiful family with the last name of McWilliams and the internship program back in 2015

What are you excited about for your new role?

I’ve already been doing part of this job with Orangewood as a volunteer. But I’m excited to use my career skill sets for the church in a bigger capacity.

What were you doing before you came to Orangewood?

I was a middle and high school choir teacher.

Where are you from?

I’m from Knoxville, Tennessee- go VOLS!

Tell us a little bit about your family:

My husband, Austin, and I have been married for eight years. We have two little boys: Hiker, who is 3, and Bo, who is 1. They are the kids who want to sing in the microphone after church during breakdown.

Favorite food?

Hibachi

Favorite place to eat?

Anywhere with fried rice

Guilty pleasure?

Pretending to be an influencer when I snap chat my mom and close friends.

Favorite author?

Any crime or mystery author.

Favorite music?

I literally love it all. Unless you have to scream- that’s just not good vocal health.

Hidden talent:

I can curl my tongue- apparently, that’s not super common. It’s panned out to be a useless talent.

Fun fact:

I’ve stood in the Gershwin stage in New York City! Also, I’ve been on three tv shows in one year.

I named my firstborn (Hiker) after my favorite hobby!
