The Penitent Thief
Johannah Huber

The Penitent Thief, led by Orangewood Members Paul and Stacy Del Favero, is dedicated to supporting returning citizens by providing comprehensive services to help them reintegrate into society and empower them to create a purposeful life after incarceration. We were thankful to be able to ask Paul a few questions about his ministry:

How did Orangewood become your church home?
We were invited by Marc Stanakis. Fun fact: I went through Jobs Partnership in 2010 when I was released from prison.

What is it like to bring citizens to worship here?
It has been a great experience! First and foremost, because of the scripture based Word every week, and the call to introduce the story of Jesus to people through actions. Furthermore, we visit other churches from time to time, but everyone considers Orangewood their home. Orangewood has made everyone feel welcomed and a part of the community.

What are some ways we can help as a church?
Prayers, first of all. Secondly, donations. Donations can be financial, vehicles, bicycles, new and lightly used clothing, used cell phones/computers, furniture. Employment partners to assist in employment needs. We also could use volunteers after training, and that may be running a class for men and/or women, logistics, or simply being a mentor.
