Q&A with Andrew Lockhart, our new Executive Director
Hey Andrew! We’re so happy to have you on staff with us as our new Executive Director! Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself?
What is your position at Orangewood?
Executive Director
What drew you to Orangewood?
I’ve been around Orangewood my whole life, but as an adult, Emily and I were drawn to Orangewood because of the people and their faithfulness to the Lord. Before Orangewood formally defined our values, we already were a place where others were welcomed and wanted, and we still are a place that clearly exhibits that value and our other values in all that we do.
What are you excited about for your new role?
I’m excited to join a great team. I’ve held leadership roles at Orangewood, but not on a full-time basis interacting daily with the team. Just excited to get to know them better and partner with them to advance Christ’s Kingdom.
What were you doing before you came to Orangewood?
I’ve worked in the for-profit world, for the last 10 years with an insurance agency called Insurance Office of America.
Where are you from?
Winter Park
Tell us a little bit about your family:
My wife, Emily, and I have been married for 11 years. We grew up in the Maitland/Winter Park area, she was a “lifer” at OCS and I grew up in the church. We met on an Orangewood summer trip to Tennessee when I was 14 and she was 12 and started dating when I transferred to OCS my Junior year of high school. We have 3 boys; Jack (7), Anderson (5), and Tyler (2) along with our Irish Doodle, Rosie.
Favorite food?
Thai Food
Favorite place to eat?
I’ll stay on theme: “Thailicious” in Longwood.
Guilty pleasure?
YouTube. I love watching any video about someone building something.
Favorite author?
I think it’s gotta be JK Rowling. I read many different types of books, both fiction and non-fiction. But Harry Potter defines my childhood, so it’s JK for the win.
Favorite music?
Mumford & Sons
Hidden talent:
I’ve memorized and can recite, all the Presidents in order or their Presidency by last name.

Nothing too fun about this, I enjoy playing golf.
