Meet our new Summer Intern, Billy Metz!
This Summer, we have three interns joining our Student Ministry team—and first up is Billy Metz!
Billy found a community here when he started attending Forge Men’s Ministry on Thursdays, where one visit turned into many, and soon Orangewood felt like home for him.
Now stepping into the role of Student Ministry Summer Intern, Billy is eager to help students “experience the freedom found in following Jesus.”

Billy’s Background:
Billy comes from a big family with four brothers, who live scattered across the South. He is originally from Chicago, “So don’t be surprised if you catch a bit of that Chicagoan twang when I talk,” Billy says.
About ten years ago, he made the move to Dallas, where his parents still live. More recently, Billy landed in beautiful Winter Park where he attended Rollins College. He graduated last May with a BA in Acting and Performance.
In his freetime, he’s “probably watching a good movie, spending time outside, or squeezing in a workout.”
Along with serving our students this summer, Billy recently stepped into a new role as Director of Development with our local partner, The Penitent Thief, after connecting with Orangewood member and Penitent Thief founder Paul Del Favero. He’ll be sharing weekly updates and powerful stories of transformation, so subscribe to their newsletter here!
Billy is also pursuing his Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary, so he’s keeping busy! We’re thrilled to have him on board, and if you see Billy around, be sure to say hello!

A Few Fun Facts!
Billy spent his time at Rollins College playing lacrosse, and was even joined by his younger brother! He enjoys authentic Mexican or Italian food and loves to enjoy dessert with his guilty pleasure of Cold Stone Creamery.
When he’s not studying, working, serving, watching a good movie, spending time outside, or squeezing in a workout, he also enjoys author Jack Carr and listening to his favorite artists, Tyler Childers and John Mayer. (Billy likes to keep busy!)
Lastly, he claims his hidden talent is that he can sing (a little!) Guess we’ll have to see if he’s selling himself short this Summer!
