Meet our new Summer Intern, Melissa Wilde!
Johannah Huber

We’ve introduced two of our three summer interns—last, but not least, is Melissa Wilde!

Melissa is excited to spend a summer with Student Ministry, especially after faithfully attending each week for the last few years! “I’ve always felt so welcomed by all of the Student Ministry Staff and they’ve helped me grow closer to the Lord,” she said.

Now, she’s excited to help other students do the same! Melissa found a community in Student Ministry, and she’s looking forward to showing others how amazing and life-changing Jesus is (and having some fun with summer events in the process!).

Melissa’s Background:

Melissa has lived right here in Maitland her whole life: her parents have instilled a strong sense of family, traveling together and enjoying pizza nights out! Her dad is a lawyer and her mom teaches at Orangewood Christian School. She has a younger sister, London, and a younger brother, Christopher, who both attend OCS as well.

Her dad is a connoisseur of pasta, and Melissa enjoys his cooking, along with the guilty pleasure of Chick-fil-A and Mellow Mushroom (who can say no to God’s chicken?)

When she wants to veg out, you can find her drinking Dr.Pepper and rewatching the Pitch Perfect movies or the TV show Suits (we’ll have to see her acapella moves in action this summer!)

A few fun facts:

Melissa’s favorite author is Jenny Han, she loves country music, but especially anything by Taylor Swift. Some of her other favorite artists include Morgan Wallen, Jack Johnson, and Luke Combs.

She’s good at math and has a fun quirk of taking the frosting off the cupcakes before she eats them (we think frosting’s overrated anyway).

Melissa is joining our Student Ministry staff this summer alongside two other interns, and we’re so pleased to enjoy her presence for at least a couple more months. When you see her, welcome her to the team, and maybe offer her a Dr. Pepper.
