Arise & Go: A Walk to Remember…

A common theme in our Arise & Go stories has been realizing that the places God is calling us to go are not as far away as we once thought…some are less than a mile away.

Julie, an Orangewood member, shared the significance of a simple challenge for her and her husband Jeff. Her challenge was this: “Take a prayer walk around your neighborhood.”

Here’s how she responded:

“Jeff and I walked around our small neighborhood (50 homes) praying for family names that we knew, or house numbers for those we didn’t. What an emotional impact on us as we lifted each family up to the Lord’s blessing!”

Sometimes, simple walks can become powerful reminders of God’s faithfulness and glory. For the homes and families they knew, prayers were personal. For the homes they didn’t know, prayers became acts of faith, a trust for God to bless, protect, and work in ways unseen.

Julie also shared how much she values the Arise & Go challenge cards, calling them a meaningful testimonial tool. These small invitations have opened the door to big moments: moments of obedience, faith, and hope.

God calls us to share his love with those around us, to never stop praying, and to delight in him always. Stories like this remind us that we are here to do His will, and that He is already at work in every home, on every street.

What a gift to pray over houses and families we know and don’t know, as we know that each person and family is part of the story God is writing.
