Meet our new Director of Communications, Vonda Westmoreland!
Johannah Huber

We’re excited to welcome a new staff member to our team: Vonda Westmoreland!

She joins Orangewood as our new Director of Communications, with a heart for the local church and a passion for helping invite more people into a relationship with Jesus. In her role, she’ll help tell the story of what God is doing in and through our church, sharing updates, celebrating ministry, and connecting people to the life of Orangewood.

Originally from Cuba, Missouri, in the Ozarks, she brings a background in both ministry and communications. Before joining us at Orangewood, she served as a missionary with Cru, working with Unto, the humanitarian division of the ministry.

What drew her to Orangewood was the opportunity to step back into the life of a local church and help people encounter Jesus through the church community’s work. She’s especially excited to work alongside a team of creative, fun-loving people who want to use their gifts and skills to glorify God.

She and her husband, John, are empty nesters with two adult daughters, and they’re excited to be part of the Orangewood family.

A Few Fun Facts!

She has a pretty simple answer when it comes to her favorite food: coffee. (We’re still debating whether that technically counts as food or not.)

Her top dining pick is Born & Bread Bakehouse in Lakeland—worth the drive, she says.

Her guilty pleasure is dark chocolate, and one of her favorite authors is Jan Karon.

Her music taste is all over the map, in the best way. She enjoys everything from worship and CCM to classic rock, alternative, and 90s/00s country, but Switchfoot remains her all-time favorite.

She also has a musical side and traveled with a vocal ensemble in college.

And finally, one of her most memorable life moments? She once stopped her truck after it rolled off a tow truck and was headed straight toward her neighbor’s car. Crisis averted!

Be sure to introduce yourself when you see her around and help us give her a warm Orangewood welcome!
