The ON Series
ON >> GENDER, coming up on November 12, is part of the ongoing ON Series at Orangewood. Our ON Series events allow our Orangewood family to come together and discuss cultural issues from a biblical perspective.
This forum focuses on what Scripture tells us about gender. As there are so many differing views on what gender and identity are, we want to seek God’s Word to know how to think about gender. We also want to learn how to lovingly engage people with differing views and especially those who may struggle with gender dysphoria. The evening will include a brief statement from our pastors, a talk from our guest speaker, and a Q&A addressing questions submitted by you. Our guest speaker for the evening is Laura Perry.

Our Speaker
Laura Perry Smalts is an author and speaker who shares her journey of being “…set free by the resurrecting power of Jesus Christ,” from a transgender identity. She also speaks and teaches on a variety of topics related to transgenderism and God’s design of human beings as male and female.
She has had the privilege to tell her story on various platforms, such as radio, video, and tv, including the documentary “In His Image,” and to teach at conferences, schools, and churches. Her story is available in her autobiography, “Transgender to Transformed.” She is a full-time staff member of First Stone Ministries in Oklahoma City and is now married to her amazing husband, Perry Smalts.
